About
100% Mexican owned and operated. Our menu is influenced by the ceviches and seafood street food from the Pacific coast, steaks from the north and city Grub from Guadalajara. We make everything fresh from scratch with our own recipes.
All our tortillas for the tacos and Totopos are made to order and are naturally gluten free. All our salsas and chilli sauces we make on site, using only imported chillies and Mexican spices and the finest Sussex produce.
On the drinks side we specialise in Margarita’s made with 100% agave Tequila, organic agave syrup and home made botanical cordials. We are also a Mezcaleria and stock a whole range of Artisanal Mezcal and Sotol. Wide selection of Mexican beers and guest Craft beers. Our wine is selected from independent European producers.

Alternatively you can call on the day and put your name on the waiting list and we’ll call you when the table is ready. We only take bookings for groups of 5 or more and only can accommodate limited tables of maximum 8 people on Friday and Saturdays. During the week we can accommodate larger groups.
For grub and glory!
Carlito Burrito was founded by Carlito Riestra in 2012.
Born and raised in Mexico, Carlito has worked, managed and built restaurants and bars for most of his adult life, from Mexican, Jamaican, Middle Eastern, Modern British, Vegetarian and raw food restaurants to Michelin star restaurants.
In 2010 Carlito Riestra and music producer Andy Barlow (Lamb, U2 producer) started a catering company “Grassroots” in 2010, trading mainly at festivals.
After a couple of years Andy went back to producing music and Carlito started Carlito Burrito.
As street food is a very important thread in the social fabric of Mexican Culture, Carlito felt it necessary to tell the story of his experience of street food, through his own eyes.
“My love for food started at a very young age thanks to my mum. She was a terrible cook!
Therefor we ate out quite a lot”
